Question:
Attaching Plaque to Granite Boulder
Asked by georgek on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 06:13 AM
I recently lost a very dear pet. I buried her at the base of a large granite boulder in back of my house. I purchased a slate plaque which I would like to mount permanently on the face of the boulder. What could I use for this mounting project?
Thank you in advance.

Depending on the thickness of the slate (up to 1 1/2 inches), you can use liquid nails or tile mastic to hold the tile in place.
Apply the adhesive to the tile and press the tile on to the boulder. Then support the tile using duct tape and/or wood to hold in place until the adhesive sets up (approximately 24 hours).
Once dry, remove the support.
